What safeguarding features exist within Buzz?

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at The Ambassador Platforms. Let's dive into the safeguarding features that are available within our newest feature; Buzz!

Only invited Members can gain access to Buzz

We have built Buzz to be an invite-only space, which means that only students that you directly invite into the community can gain access. Members will also need to use exactly the same email address that the invite was sent to, or they will receive an error message.

This is so that you can be confident that only your most engaged leads are interacting in Buzz (rather than top of the funnel enquirers) and that the quality of conversations remain excellent at all times!

First names only

As with all aspects of the platform, Prospects and Ambassadors will only be identified by their first names only. As an admin, you will be able to see the full names of everyone interacting on the platform, but this information is hidden from student users to keep them anonymised as much as possible.

Email and telephone numbers are blocked by default

We want to keep all conversations on the platform as much as possible, where they can be monitored by you and students can be kept safe. We therefore block all telephone numbers and email addresses in Buzz by default, so that personal information is never shared.

Of course, if you would like your Ambassadors to be able to share "official" contact information for your institution (say for your Admissions or Student Services Teams), please make sure to add this information to your Settings > Safeguarding screen...

Keyword blocking technology

Our keyword blocking technology automatically scans each and every message that is sent on the platform for inappropriate language. If any of our keywords or phrases are detected in conversation, they are automatically blocked for the Ambassador and Prospect; regardless of who has sent the message. For your student users, they will see **** in replacement of the word or phrase, and as an admin user, you can review the exact wording that has been used and take necessary action (either to unblock the word or remove the prospect's access to the platform).

You can review and edit your list of keywords from the Settings > Safeguarding screen...

PS. keywords can also be added in other languages! 😊

If you have any questions regarding our safeguarding features or policy, please don't hesitate in reaching out to your dedicated Customer Success Manager, or email support@theambassadorplatform.com.
