Accessibility widget for all prospects on the TAP Feed
You may have noticed that we now have an accessibility widget integrated into the TAP Feed as standard. This is provided by a third party technology provider called UserWay Inc.
UserWay is seamlessly integrated into The Ambassador Platform and gives TAP Feed users complete control over the look, feel, and accessibility capabilities. This includes (but not limited to)...

- Descriptions for essential information including images and videos
- Alt text for all images and non-visual alternatives (where appropriate)
- Content that can be navigated with just a keyboard or speech recognition tools
- Screen reader compatibility
- Structured, ordered, and labelled content
The TAP Feed has been designed to enable you to:
- change colours, contrast, and fonts where required
- navigate using the keyboard and speech software
- zoom in up to 300% while maintaining the visibility of all content
- listen to the website using a screen reader (including JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
The widget detects elements on the page and allows a user with a disability to change everything about these elements without you needing to change a single line of code.
UserWay ensures that the latest requirements and rule bases are applied to TAP technology according to any new WCAG guidelines that may be introduced.
Subtitles across all video content and Streams
Subtitles have been automatically generated for videos that have been published to the TAP Feed from 1st January 2024 onwards, and will continue to be generated for all new videos. This includes all new...- Live Stream Recordings
- Re-uploaded Live Stream Videos
- On-demand Live Stream Videos
- Video content uploaded by Admins or Ambassadors
Content and Stream subtitles can be viewed from the admin dashboard...
...or from your institution's TAP Feed.
Additional user controls
Users can now enable or disable subtitles when viewing TAP Feed content for improved flexibility. TAP Feed visitors can simply click on the three ellipsis button on the video they wish to view...
...and then select the captions button to make the subtitles live on their screen.
As you can see, it's also now possible for prospective students to watch videos in faster playback speeds, or opt to watch picture-in-picture mode!
We are continuously updating and improving our accessibility credentials. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this topic, please don't hesitate in reaching out to your Dedicated Customer Success Manager or email support@theambassadorplatform.com.
