The IDP Student Community is a dynamic online space designed to support students throughout their study abroad journey - from initial exploration to arrival and beyond. It’s built around the fact that students feel more confident, informed, and inspired when they can connect with others who’ve walked the same path.

🌏 A Peer-Led, Experience-Rich Environment
At its core, the Community is powered by student ambassadors - real students who share their experiences, answer questions, and offer guidance through:
- 1-2-1 chats: Direct messaging with ambassadors for personalised advice.
- Themed group chats: Topic-based discussions (e.g. careers, courses, accommodation, culture shock).
- Online events & webinars: Live sessions hosted by ambassadors or IDP experts as well as university-specific webinar recordings.
- Experience-based content: Images, videos, and text-based answers that reflect real student journeys.
This peer-to-peer model helps students feel supported and reassured, especially during moments of uncertainty or decision-making.

The Community is structured to meet students where they are in their journey:

- Post-arrival: Share experiences and help others who are just starting out.
Students can join at any stage and engage in ways that suit their preferences - whether that’s chatting, attending events, or simply browsing content.

The IDP Student Community is moderated to ensure respectful, helpful interactions. Ambassadors are trained and supported by IDP, and internal teams monitor engagement to maintain quality and safety.
